game in baltimore tonight. it's an eight-year deal that takes the refs through the 2019 season. some pension reforms that the owners wanted, nice pay increases for the refs, hitting $200,000 a season in 2019. remember, these are mostly part-timers; right? and to give the owners some flexibility in benching refs it deems underperforming. the league will have the option to start hiring its own officials. nfl commissioner roger goodell said the agreement supports long-term reforms that will make officiating better. the teams players fans want and deserve both consistency and quality officiating. one football great says after the blown calls by the replacement officials, the league had to cut a deal. >> they were doing all right until they put the replacement referees in. it was a debacle. it was an embarrassment. they had to cave because the game was being compromised. peter: the refs will vote on the agreement friday and saturday will be back on the fields for sunday's games. dagen and connell. connell: by the way everybody keeps saying the lockout -- it is temporarily lifted tonight;

really does affect so many people. indiana, and look at this, even in baltimore, maryland, we're loing at two to four inches of rain over the next two days. that's a lot of rain. and unfortunately, for your outdoor barbecues, that may impact you. we're already seeing some impacts on air travel. right now we're looking at potential delays for many cities due to the clouds, the rain and the thunderstorms that isaac is bringing. in cincinnati, chicago, some of the cities were forecasting delays, as well as st. louis, san diego, not impacted by isaac, but we are seeing some delays out on the west coast. take a look at the labor day weekend forecast. so, for saturday, we're looking at isaac working its way across the heartland, but then as we head into sunday and even into monday, we're anticipating a little bit more in thunderstorms that will work their way across the eastern half of the country, so it's a little unsettled over knoxville, tennessee, further off towards charlottesville, virginia, but most of the country for labor day itself does look good, randi, so that's some good news. i

of the aisle hope the refs lockout ends soon. this after a disputed field goal gave the baltimore raven a one-point win over the patriots and a series of botched calls and misapplied rules that have driven coaches, players and fans crazy. all this because of a labor dispute between the nfl and its regular referees that began when the league locked out the refs in june. the referees want more money, asking for more than the nfl's offer to increase their average salaries from $149,000 a year to $189,000. compare that to the median nfl player's salary, $770,000 a year. it's important to remember the average nfl playing career is only three and a half years. and most of the refs have other careers. so these aren't full-time jobs for them. the nfl wants to make the refs full-time and to add more refs so the average referee would make less money. the league also wants to move them from a pension systeto a 401(k). but in the context of a business that brings in $9.5 billion a year, it seems relatively solvable. red cashin, an nfl referee for 25 years through two super bowls doesn't blame the replace
